Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Solutions Design Analyst to analyse, design and support the implementation of optimal warehouse solutions for customers. Based at the Northampton SDC site with optional remote work up to 4 days per week, you will collaborate with Operations, Business Development and IT to align solutions with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in warehouse operations or similar logistics environments.
• Proven experience in an Analyst and / or Solution Design role is desirable, but training will be provided.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills to collect, interpret, and analyse complex data sets.
• Experience using design tools like CAD or CLASS (desirable but not essential).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and present findings to stakeholders at various levels.
• A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
• The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Use data analysis techniques to extract insights from customer and internal operational data, including inventory levels, order volumes, and cycle times, to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Develop appropriate and realistic warehouse solutions for new and existing customers to meet tender requirements, including:
• Warehouse modelling & optimisation
• Warehouse layout design
• Resource modelling, including shift patterns, manager-to-operative ratios & MHE levels
• Proposal for automation including business case justification
• Warehouse process modelling of ‘what if’ scenarios to redesign and optimise warehouse processes by implementing industry best practices, automation, and technology.
• Always ensure customer service levels meet customer and business expectations, providing timely and appropriate communication.
• Build and maintain good team relationships with associated departments, ensuring an aligned approach in all proposed solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in warehouse operations to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
