Job summary

You will manage shift managers, ensure safety and efficiency, and report operational metrics to senior management. The role offers a £50,000 salary and a 2:00pm–10:00pm shift.

Operations Manager - Warehouse

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm / Monday to Friday

Location: BD12 Oakenshaw

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the leadership and performance of a busy, fast-paced warehouse operation processing up to 70,000 parcels per day.

This is a highly operational, manual and fast-moving environment where pace, accuracy, people leadership and problem-solving are critical to success.

You will have direct reports consisting of Shift Managers and will take responsibility for overall shift leadership, performance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction across the shift.
• Manage and support Shift Managers as direct reports.
• Take ownership of shift performance, productivity, quality and operational standards.
• Identify, investigate and resolve complex operational problems across the site.
• Monitor performance throughout the shift and take action when issues arise.
• Lead and develop a large operational workforce in a demanding, high-volume environment.
• Ensure teams are working safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and productivity.
• Maintain clear and accurate shift reporting.
• Communicate operational performance, issues and actions to senior management.
• Work closely with other departments and shifts to ensure a consistent site-wide operation.

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment and is comfortable making decisions under pressure.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in an Operations Manager or senior warehouse management role.
• Experience managing Shift Managers or other management-level direct reports.
• A background in logistics, parcels, distribution, fulfilment or high-volume warehouse operations.
• Experience managing large teams within a manual operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience working with productivity, performance and operational KPIs.
• The resilience and energy required to operate effectively in a demanding environment.
