Job summary

iForce Limited operates a Corby site and is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, drive performance, and manage a large team. The role involves coordinating labour, ensuring health and safety standards, and delivering KPI targets within a fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will optimise processes, control labour costs, and work closely with the Operations Manager to refine the operation. Shift patterns are 10am–10pm with a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse operational experience.
• Experience managing a large team.
• Proven experience in people management (probation, attendance, performance, disciplinary).
• Experience prioritising a tight and challenging workload.
• Knowledge and experience of safe working practices, Health & Safety.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage attendance, performance, productivity and accuracy, motivating the team.
• Coordinate and motivate the warehouse operation for effective performance.
• Drive continuous improvement within the warehouse with planned actions.
• Oversee shift manning and labour to meet workloads on time.
• Responsible for achieving operational KPIs and cost control.
• Maintain knowledge of returns, inventory control, co-pack, delivery schedules and safety procedures.
• Communicate confidently with staff, customers and other departments.
• Promote Health & Safety and proper use of MHE.
• Performance manage employees to maximise productivity and address underperformance.
• Handle disciplinary matters following correct procedures.
• Manage sickness and absence to minimise disruption and maintain low absence levels.

Job Description

Joining our Corby site as a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be focused at delivering consistent performance, ensuring that all day to day aspects of the operation are managed proactively. You will be working with the Operations Manager to fine tune the current operation and are responsible for the day to day management of a large team.

Fixed term contract , end of July to January 2027

Working hours: 10am-10pm.

• Week 1 -Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Week 2 -Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday

Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager

• Manage team attendance, performance, productivity and accuracy levels, motivating team members to achieve high levels.
• Coordinate and motivate the warehouse operation to ensure effective operational performance.
• As part of the senior operations team drive continuous improvement within the warehouse, implementing plans to consistently improve the performance.
• Responsible for shift manning and labour management to achieve workloads in a time sensitive operation.
• Overall management and responsibility for achieving operational KPI’s.
• Maintain a good working knowledge of warehouse operational areas including returns, inventory control, co-pack, delivery schedules along with Health & Safety procedures.
• Communicate confidently and effectively with staff, customers and other areas of the business to maintain and develop positive relationships.
• Responsible for controlling labour costs, whilst ensuring a flow of work is maintained throughout the warehouse without any disruption to the business.
• Responsible for the promotion of Health & Safety within the warehouse promoting MHE and accountability.
• Performance managing employees to ensure maximum productivity and taking appropriate steps to manage underperformance.
• Responsible for proactively managing and addressing any disciplinary matters that may arise ensuring that the correct procedure is followed at all times.
• Responsible for the control and management of all sickness and absence, supporting and managing employees effectively to ensure low levels of absence.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse operational experience.
• Experience of managing, supporting and motivating a large team.
• Proven experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Experience of managing teams and prioritising a tight and challenging workload.
• Knowledge and experience of safe working practice inclusive of all Health and Safety elements.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Good IT skills, Microsoft packages and WMS.
• Previous 3PL experience is highly advantageous.
