Job summary

Loom Talent Limited are partnering with a well-known logistics and production business in Thurmaston to recruit a Warehouse Shift Manager. The role is a 4 month fixed-term contract with a Monday–Friday 14:00–22:00 shift, located in Thurmaston.

The Warehouse Shift Manager will lead all activity across the operation, driving efficiency and safety while maintaining OTIF deliveries. The candidate should have warehouse operations experience, 3PL exposure is advantageous, and strong people management

Qualifications

• Experience within Warehouse Operations
• Previous 3PL experience is highly advantageous
• People Management experience - ability to support and manage a large shift
• Experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters
• Good working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
• Good IT skills, Microsoft packages and WMS
• Commutable to the Thurmaston area 5 days per week

Responsibilities

• Optimise Logistics Operations - Manage warehouse, transport, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Supplier & Vendor Relationships - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and key stakeholders to drive performance and cost efficiencies.
• Inventory & Stock Control - Ensure accurate stock levels, reduce waste, and improve inventory forecasting to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Customer Order Fulfilment - Oversee sales order processing, ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Data-Driven Performance Management - Monitor and analyse supply chain KPIs, such as lead times, cost per unit, and supplier performance, to drive continuous improvement.
• Warehouse & Facility Oversight - Manage warehouse operations, ensuring optimal layout, stock movement, and safety compliance.
• Process Improvement & Cost Reduction - Identify opportunities to streamline processes, negotiate better supplier terms, and reduce operational costs without compromising service quality.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with production, sales, and finance teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
• Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry regulations, mitigating risks across the supply chain.

The Warehouse Shift Manager will play a critical role in leading all activity across the operation within their field.
