Job summary

Lidl GB is seeking a Shift Leader for a night-shift role at our Peterborough warehouse. You will lead a team, manage shifts, train new starters, and support daily operations to ensure efficient, safe warehouse performance.

You’ll work closely with other Shift Leaders and the Department Manager, maintaining high standards, motivating staff, and promoting Lidl values while delivering excellent teamwork and service.

Responsibilities

• Line manage and develop a strong team.
• Lead shifts for the area and oversee colleague performance.
• Collaborate with other Shift Leaders and RDC for smooth operations.
• Support the Department Manager with daily operations and staffing.
• Motivate, mentor and train your team for growth.
• Identify and highlight inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Perform general warehouse duties: moving stock, picking, returns.

What you'll do

• Line manage an amazing team, supporting them with all the development, coaching and training they need to succeed
• Lead the shifts for your area, taking responsibility for colleague performance and your direct reports
• Work closely with other Shift Leaders within your department and across the RDC to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the operations
• Support your Department Manager with daily operations and personnel management
• Motivate and support your team, learning from our Company Values
• Mentor your colleagues and supporting your team’s training
• Proactively promote efficient working methods, highlighting inefficiencies when you spot them
• Efficiently perform general warehouse operative duties like moving stock, picking goods and processing returns
