Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a motivated Warehouse Operator for our Cowie site, involved in the fast-paced movement, organisation and preparation of goods across a 3-shift pattern. You will report to the Warehouse Manager and ensure safe, efficient operations from loading to stock movement using AX and RF-Smart systems.

The role demands at least 3 years in a similar environment, physical fitness, and a strong focus on safety, accuracy and teamwork as part of a busy warehouse team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse or logistics environment.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks safely and accurately.
• Strong concentration and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Good judgement of measurements (weights, heights, lengths).
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Adaptability to operate various warehouse equipment following training.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, working closely with colleagues and visiting drivers.
• Commitment to maintaining strict safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse machinery and equipment safely and to required standards.
• Load and unload goods from vehicles, typically around 21 trucks per shift (approx. one every 18 minutes).
• Pre-assemble a minimum of 20 loads per shift, which requires extended periods operating warehouse equipment.
• Follow all health & safety protocols, including SSOW and risk assessments.
• Maintain clean, tidy and organised working areas.
• Stack goods accurately in designated storage bays.
• Use Microsoft AX and RF-Smart systems for stock movements.
• Prepare loads in accordance with DSA guidelines.
• Conduct quarterly cycle counts, including removing, scanning and replacing stock.
