Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative / Stock Controller at Head Office in Banbridge. You will manage receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires attention to detail, reliability, teamwork and safe operation of pallet trucks and forklifts where trained. You will maintain stock levels, complete paperwork and contribute to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient receipt, inspection, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods, ensuring orders are accurate and correctly labelled.
• Maintain accurate stock levels through inventory checks, stock rotation and organised storage.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures, keep a clean, tidy working environment, and operate warehouse equipment (pallet trucks, shrink wrappers, forklifts where trained).
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to meet daily targets and support continuous improvement.

Team Overview: The Stores & Warehousing team manages the receipt, storage, and distribution of all materials and equipment required for our projects. By maintaining organised inventory control and efficient stock management, the department ensures that the right materials are available at the right time, supporting smooth project workflows and reducing delays. Their role is key to operational efficiency and effective supply chain management.

Role Overview: The Warehouse Operative / Stock Controller will play a key role in the day to day running of warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. You’ll be part of a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and reliability are essential. The role involves both manual handling and the use of warehouse equipment, with a strong focus on maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

What You'll be Doing

Responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods, ensuring orders are accurate, securely packaged, correctly labelled, and delivered according to schedule. Maintain accurate stock levels through inventory checks, stock rotation, and organised storage, while completing all relevant paperwork and digital records. Adhere to company Health & Safety procedures, maintain a clean and tidy working environment, and safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks, shrink wrappers, and forklifts where trained and authorised. Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues, drivers, and other departments to meet daily targets, support continuous improvement, and carry out any other reasonable duties as required by management.
