Job summary

Kanes Foods Ltd. in Evesham is seeking a Warehouse Operative to ensure the safe receipt and storage of goods, and to complete the relevant paperwork and data entry into our systems.

The role includes stock rotation, HACCP compliance, operating forklift equipment, and carrying out temperature checks, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

This is a permanent position on the blue shift, with hours 05:00–17:00 on Thursdays to Saturdays (plus alternate Wednesdays).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a chilled Food Manufacturing business or FMCG.
• Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• IT literate
• Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a warehouse team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of handheld scanners and relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems
• Honesty and trustworthiness
• The ability to work effectively under limited supervision

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
• Storing and rotating stock according to set procedures.
• Keeping the warehouse and yard environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
• Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods and completing health & safety checks on equipment as per company policy
• Completing the necessary warehouse inventory controls – stock counts, weighing and recording weights
• Treat all stock with care at all times, ensure that all products are stored safely and in accordance with the company HACCP policy (especially chemicals and food)
• Accurate and timely recording of data into Vensis and other systems
• Completing daily pick lists for stock movements to feeder warehouse
• Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
• Operating lifting equipment e.g. forklift truck to load, unload, move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely (especially chemicals and food)
• Correctly label and identify allergen stocks and store appropriately.
• Clean and maintain the warehouses and equipment (Forklifts and Shadow boards etc.)
• Completing relevant vehicle and temperature checks when required

Main purpose of the role:
