Job summary

The Fresh Produce Centre, Ltd. is seeking a Level 2 Operative to join our Warehouse Team in Tonbridge. You will move product, packaging and materials, unload vehicles, and handle stock put-away, packhouse transfers and loading for dispatch.

Ideal candidates have warehouse experience, strong literacy/numeracy, and forklift operation skills (reach and counterbalance). SAP experience is a plus; the role includes diverse duties and a weekend rota.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar warehouse role.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy.
• Experience with a scanner-enabled environment; SAP desirable.
• Forklift experience (reach and counterbalance).
• Experience in a 'pick to order' high-volume environment.
• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Ability to support and coach others.

Responsibilities

• Move products, packaging and materials around the operation.
• Unloading vehicles and putting away stock.
• Move products to packhouse and to consolidation/marshalling areas.
• Load packed product onto vehicles for dispatch.
• Clear packhouse of produce, packaging, trays and pallets and return to storage.
• Empty bins and remove waste to compactor area; manage recycling.

Job description

About the Job:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Level 2 Operative to join us in order to enhance our Warehouse Team. The purpose of this role is to undertake the movement of product, packaging and other materials throughout the operation; including vehicle unloading, put away, movement to packhouse, packed product movement to consolidation/marshalling and vehicle loading. Towards the end of your shift, you'll ensure that all produce, packaging, trays and pallets are cleared from the packhouse and returned to the correct storage area. Emptying bins, removing containers for a waste product, recycling and taking non-recyclable packaging to the compactor area are also within your remit. By complying with our pre-shift routine, you'll be responsible for carrying out routine inspections of your truck and returning to the charging bay, ready for the next day.

Our perfect Warehouse Operative would have:

• Experience in a similar role.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience in working with a scanner system enabled environment, preferably SAP (desirable).
• Experienced reach and counterbalance forklift truck operator.
• Experienced working in a 'pick to order' high volume operating environment.
• Self motivated and work on own initiative.
• An ability to support and coach others.
