Job summary

APP Wholesale, part of Lords Group Trading, is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team in the UK. You will handle stock intake, order picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining accurate stock records and safety practices.

You will work closely with the team to ensure efficient warehouse operations, regular stock checks, and timely order fulfilment, with attention to detail and reliable attendance. Forklift readiness and basic computer skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths preferred.
• Vocational warehousing qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Accurate processing and locating of goods in and out.
• Picking and packing items for dispatch.
• Loading of vehicles for onward delivery to customers.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure stock is stored and labelled correctly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Maximise stock availability with branch stock control.
• Complete compliance and training modules promptly.
• Demonstrate good attendance and timekeeping.
• Follow manual handling guidelines daily.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage time effectively and stay flexible (weekends/evenings if required).
• Use computer systems to manage stock records.

Job description

The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organising, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Responsibilities:

• Accurate processing and locating of goods in and out
• Picking and packing items for dispatch
• Loading of vehicles for onward delivery to our customers
• Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy of stock and resolve any discrepancies.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklift and pump trucks safely and efficiently.
• Take responsibility for designated area ensuring stock is correctly stored and labelled.
• Demonstrate highest levels of housekeeping.
• Maximise stock availability by working closely with branch stock control and ordering directly where required.
• Prompt completion of compliance and training modules
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and timekeeping.
• Follow correct manual handling guidelines in day-to-day activities
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings if required
• Basic computer skills, including experience using warehouse management systems

Education & Qualifications:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are preferred
• A relevant vocational qualification (e.g. NVQ, BTEC) in warehousing, logistics, or a related field would be an advantage
