Job summary

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to coordinate our daily warehouse and distribution requirements in Warrington (WA4 4SN).

The role involves manual handling, picking and packing, with a rotational day shift pattern (0600–1400, 1000–1800). There is an out-of-hours on-call rota with extra pay and potential bonus, plus benefits. Please note drug and alcohol screening as part of recruitment.

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience as a Warehouse Operative in logistics.
• Counterbalance FLT experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Reach FLT experience would be advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in preparation and distribution of volume orders.
• Excellent organisation and workload management.
• Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Own transport to site.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

(Please note: This role has an out of hours "on call rota" - one week in every four. An extra payment of £157.50 is paid for each week you are on call, plus additional payments made if you are called out to site.)

Pay Rate: £28,128.23 (£26,141.48 + 7.6% shift pay) - Also potential to earn annual bonus of £1300

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Rotational day shift pattern 0600 hours-1400 hours/1000 hours-1800 hours (Must be able to work both shifts)
Location: Warrington - WA4 4SN - Please check location, this is not on a main public transport route

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Undertake the manual handling, distribution and monitoring of materials in a bulk storage and warehouse environment.
• Be responsible for picking and packing specified items from storage and prepare them for shipment.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous practical experience as a Warehouse Operative, within a logistics environment or similar role and be familiar with all Manual Handling Procedures
• COUNTERBALANCE FLT experience is advantageous but not essential
• Reach FLT experience would be advantageous but not essential
• Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
• Manual Handling Equipment (MHE)
• Basic computer skills
