Job summary

Gap Personnel is recruiting for Warehouse Operatives on behalf of TJ Morris at the all-purpose distribution centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4. The site operates 24/7 and roles are on a 5 days out of 7 pattern with rotating weekends.

Operatives will use the automated Caddy Pick System, receive training, and contribute to daily picking and loading for store delivery. Induction lasts 3 days with practical training and assessments.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and perform manual handling as required.
• Willingness to work 5 days out of 7 including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safe picking and loading of items into cages for store delivery.
• Ensure items are picked per order and loaded correctly.
• Maintain clean working practices.
• Work towards pick rate targets and other performance metrics.

Hours:Any 5 days out of 7 including weekends

Shifts: 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm

Hourly rate: £13.23per hour – 4 weekly pay, pay schedule to be provided.

gap personnel (4WP Solutions) part of the gap personnel group are currently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives on a weekly basis for Early shift and Late shift, located at TJ Morris’ all-purpose distribution centre located at Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4.

You will be joining a privately owned, family run discount retailer selling top brands at the lowest possible price on the UK high street. The distribution centre is one of the companies most advanced and highly automated DC’s and covers a huge 1,000,000sq.ft.

TheWarehouse Operativeis fundamental to the day-to-day operations across theTJ Morrisnetwork with all items picked for the day, supplied direct to stores the following day. The site operates 24/7 with all warehouse operatives expected to work 5 days out of 7 which will include rotational weekends.

As aWarehouse Operativeyou will be provided with all of the latest training to ensure that you can operate to your full potential, and to use the companies automated Caddy Pick System. You have regular training sessions and progress reviews for continuous improvement within your job role.

Main responsibilities of aWarehouse Operativeinclude:

• Safe picking and loading of items into cages ready for store delivery
• Ensuring all items are picked as per order and loaded correctly
• Maintaining clean working practices
• Work towards achievement of pick rate and other targets

The role also includes a 3-day induction which will cover off the below,

• Day 1:Induction, Orientation, Warehouse Tour, Manual Handling, Caddy Overview, Cage Stacking, Caddy Demo.
• Day 2: Practical Training on Caddy, Practical Training on Caddy.
• Day 3:Caddy Assessment, Caddy Coaching.

This role will involve covering large distances by foot (up to 15,000 steps per day), although the automated picking system will provide you with the shortest / quickest route to each item that is required to be picked.

Successful candidates will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
