Job summary

William Wilson, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting for a Warehouse Operative in Ayr. The role covers picking & packing, assisting customers, handling inquiries, and local deliveries when the main driver is away. It is a full-time position with standard hours.

Responsibilities

• General warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries.
• Assisting customers at the trade counter by identifying their requirements and providing product recommendations.
• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously.
• Delivering plumbing and heating supplies to customers in the local area when the main driver is on holiday.

Job Responsibilities

• General warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which involves manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, sinks, radiators, and toilets and ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch
• Assisting customers at the trade counter by identifying their requirements and providing product recommendations
• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Delivering plumbing and heating supplies to our customers in the local area when the main driver is on holiday

This is a full time, permanent role working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday between 08:00am - 5.00pm.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a busy warehouse environment
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn, including the completion of necessary training
• Full UK manual driving license is essential
