Barrett Steel Limited in Scunthorpe is seeking a Warehouse Operative for rotating shifts (nights and afternoons). You will pick orders, record stock movements, and transfer stock using overhead cranes or forklifts while maintaining strict health and safety standards.

You’ll also help organise dispatches and support the team in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a flexible, team‑oriented approach, with a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklifts or side-loaders is preferred.

All About the Role
Based at our Scunthorpe Site, we have a vacancy for a Warehouse Operative- the rotating shift hours are Sunday to Friday 10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm, then Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm. The purpose of this role is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment whilst adhering to all required Health & Safety procedures. Specific tasks could include:

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Transferring stock to its location using Overhead Crane, Forklift trucks/ Side-loaders
• Assisting in the overall organisation and dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
• Work well in a team environment
