Barrett Steel Limited, based in Rotherham, is hiring Profile Operatives to work on a rotating shift basis fulfilling customer orders in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include picking orders, operating machinery, and maintaining stock records.

The ideal candidates should possess experience with bandsaws and a flexible attitude toward teamwork and health & safety. The position offers competitive pay ranging from £14.56 to £15.89 per hour, alongside 25 days of holiday and various employee benefits.

All About the Role

Based at our C Roberts Steel Services Site in Rotherham, we have vacancies for Profile Operatives on our rotating shift pattern. The hours are as follows:

Days – Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:00, Friday 06:00 to 12:30.

Nights – Monday to Thursday 20:30 to 06:00, Friday 18:00 to 03:00.

Afternoons – Monday to Thursday 13:00 to 21:00, Friday 12:00 to 18:30.

The purpose of these roles is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast‑paced environment. Specific tasks could include:

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items.
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Operate saws and handle steel.
• Transfer stock to its location using forklift trucks and cranes.
• Assist in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

Essential Skills for the role

• Experience with bandsaws or similar machinery.

• Health & Safety awareness.
• Experience with bandsaws or any CNC profile cutting plasma/gas/laser.
