Job summary

DPD Group UK is seeking a warehouse operative for a permanent 30-hour week to support our busy distribution centre in Rishton, England.

You will work Tue-Sat, 02:00–08:30, loading, scanning, sorting parcels up to 25kg, operating scanners and conveyors, and upholding health and safety standards. Full training and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Physical role requiring standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work early hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parcels with precision.
• Scan, sort and route parcels to correct locations.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain health, safety and housekeeping standards in the warehouse.
• Report discrepancies or system issues to supervisor promptly.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily targets.

This is a fast-paced, physical role and you will be on your feet all shift. As a warehouse operative, you will be the backbone of our operation, playing a critical role in DPD continuing to deliver outstanding service.

Key Duties Include:

• Loading and unloading, scanning, and sorting parcels with precision and accuracy
• Handling items up to 25kg (who needs a gym membership when you can keep fit whilst you work!)
• Using our technology systems to ensure every parcel gets to the right place at the right time
• Operating warehouse equipment including scanners, conveyor systems, and handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the warehouse environment
• Conducting quality control checks to verify parcel condition and accurate labelling and reporting any discrepancies, damaged items, or system issues to your supervisor promptly
• Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and shift objectives
• Adhering to attendance expectations and maintaining reliability throughout your shift
