The Warehouse operative plays a key role in the daily operations of a warehouse/distribution centre.
The role of a warehouse operative is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a warehouse, from the receipt of goods to their storage and shipment. This role helps maintain inventory integrity, contributes to timely order fulfilment, and supports overall warehouse logistics.
After receiving goods, they sort and organise products in the warehouse, properly scanning and storing items in pick bays, racks, or designated areas.
The operative assists in picking products from inventory according to customer orders or requisitions, packs these items for shipment, ensuring proper labelling and protection, and ensures sufficient raw materials for packing.
They help maintain accurate inventory records through periodic cycle counts or assistance with this task, update inventory management systems, and notify supervisors of discrepancies.
