Job summary

Urban Logistics, the supply chain and logistics division within the KION Group, is hiring a Warehouse Operative for the Newbury Spare Parts Warehouse. You will receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch parts, ensuring accuracy and service levels in a busy environment.

This permanent, full-time role runs Monday to Friday. Applicants should have basic data entry skills and the ability to work collaboratively to maintain stock accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre.
  • Forklift Licence is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative to solve problems.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management systems.
  • Numerical competency.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, inspect and accurately book-in inbound deliveries, reporting discrepancies, shortages or damages.
  • Store goods in designated warehouse locations with stock rotation.
  • Accurately pick, pack and dispatch spare parts to meet requirements within service levels.
  • Prepare outbound shipments and documentation using approved carrier systems.
  • Carry out stock checks, cycle counts and audits to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and damaged stock.
  • Ensure warehouse transactions are recorded in management systems.
  • Support timely provision of spare parts to maximise customer satisfaction and uptime.
  • Assist with loading/unloading of vehicles, ensuring safe handling.
  • Undertake other duties to support warehouse operations.

Exciting Career Opportunity as a Warehouse Operative at Urban Logistics in Newbury!

Urban Logistics are the supply chain and logistics division within the KION Group, a global leader in forklift trucks and warehouse equipment with over 42,000 employees. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key player in driving the group’s internal supply chain. We are looking for a skilled Warehouse Operative to support the efficient and safe operation of the Newbury Spare Parts Warehouse by accurately receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching parts to meet customer and business requirements. This is a permanent, full time position working Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, unload, inspect and accurately book-in inbound deliveries, reporting any discrepancies, shortages or damages.
  • Store goods in designated warehouse locations in accordance with established procedures and stock rotation requirements.
  • Accurately pick, pack and dispatch spare parts to meet customer, engineer and business requirements within agreed service levels.
  • Prepare outbound shipments and associated documentation using approved carrier and transport systems.
  • Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain a high level of stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving stock discrepancies, damaged stock and inventory issues.
  • Ensure all warehouse transactions are correctly recorded within warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Support the timely provision of spare parts to maximise customer satisfaction, engineer productivity and equipment uptime.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles whilst ensuring goods are handled safely and securely.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.
