Job summary

Siamo Recruitment, a division of Siamo Group, is seeking a Warehouse Operative in Measham (DE12). The role focuses on accurate picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch, ensuring stock is handled safely and orders are fulfilled on time.

You will work as part of a coordinated team to maintain an organised and efficient warehouse, with emphasis on accuracy and safety guidelines. This is temporary warehouse work with a £16.13 per hour rate.

About the Role:

You will support the smooth running of the warehouse by accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch. Working as part of a coordinated team, you will help ensure stock is handled safely, orders are fulfilled on time, and the warehouse remains organised and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick customer orders accurately from designated locations within the warehouse.
• Pack items securely and correctly, ensuring all orders are prepared to required standards.
• Carry out manual handling and lifting tasks safely in line with training and guidelines.
• Load and unload goods, including assisting with deliveries and stock movements.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area, including general warehouse housekeeping.
• Check items against order sheets and labels to ensure correct quantities and products.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Report any damaged stock, discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate person.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a warehouse, distribution, or similar manual handling environment.
• Confident in manual lifting and handling of goods throughout the shift.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when picking, packing, and checking orders.
• Ability to follow written instructions, pick lists, and basic warehouse documentation.
• Reliable team player with clear, straightforward communication skills.
• Comfortable working to performance targets and time deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required during busy periods.

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience using handheld scanners or basic warehouse technology.
• Familiarity with order picking systems and stock location processes.
• Experience working within a fast-paced logistics or e-commerce environment.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety practices in a warehouse setting.

Qualifications:

• Basic level of education, including good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Manual handling training or certification (preferred but can be provided).
