Job summary

Workchain is currently recruiting General Operatives to join our team in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. This is a hands-on outdoor role sorting wooden pallets to reusable, repairable, or scrap categories, with a target of about 80 pallets per hour.

Training and support are provided, and you will work closely with a team leader to learn the process. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with full waterproof PPE and workwear supplied.

Qualifications

• No previous pallet-sorting experience required; full training will be provided.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sort pallets into reusable, repairable and scrap categories.
• Stack pallets in designated areas.
• Identify pallets per customer requirements.
• Meet a productivity target of around 80 pallets per hour.
• Follow site health and safety procedures.

We have multiple opportunities available for reliable and hardworking individuals to join the team.This is a hands-on, outdoor role involving the sorting, handling of wooden pallets. You will play an important part in ensuring pallets are correctly sorted according to their condition and customer requirements.Your duties will include:Sorting pallets into reusable, repairable and scrap categories.Stacking pallets in the correct designated areas.Identifying and separating pallets according to customer requirements.Working towards a target of approximately 80 processed pallets per hour.Working as part of a team to maintain an organised and efficient yard.Following all site health and safety procedures.What we're looking forA reliable, hardworking and practical approach to work.The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Good attention to detail and the ability to work at a steady pace.The ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.A positive attitude and willingness to learn.No previous pallet-sorting experience is necessary, as training and support will be provided.
