Job summary

Macfarlane Packaging is seeking a Warehouse Operative in Fareham to support stock handling, order fulfilment and high operational standards within our regional distribution centre. The role is hands-on, requiring accuracy, reliability and strong teamwork to ensure on-time delivery.

We offer 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary up to £29,000 plus bonus and shift allowances, plus a benefits package including holiday, pension and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a busy warehouse environment.
• Valid FLT licences Reach and Counterbalance (ideal).
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Team-focused with a positive work ethic.
• Good understanding of health & safety practices.
• Basic IT, numeracy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, and store incoming goods accurately.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders efficiently.
• Load and unload vehicles safely.
• Carry out stock counts and audits.
• Process returns and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate system records and documentation.
• Work with internal teams to meet delivery commitments.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures.

The role

As our Warehouse Operative, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive the right products, on time, every time.Working within our Regional Distribution Centre, you’ll be responsible for handling stock accurately, supporting efficient order fulfilment, and maintaining high operational standards. This is a hands-on role where teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Process returns and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate system records and documentation
• Work closely with internal teams to meet delivery commitments
• Follow all health & safety and quality procedures

What you’ll bring

• Experience working in a busy warehouse environment
• Valid FLT licences forklift licence (ideally both Reach & Counterbalance)
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Team-focused approach with a positive work ethic

• Basic IT, numeracy, and communication skills

• Experience working with multiple product lines
• Exposure to fast-paced distribution environments
• Experience liaising with internal departments
