• Ensure equipment is in good working order and available.
• Assist with site preparation and site clearance.
• Ensure on-time delivery to locations.
• Maintain accurate records and a safe working environment.

Job description

Lloyd Recruitment Services is working with a well-established construction business in East Grinstead, who are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and supporting the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse.

The role will involve:

• Coordinating the movement and distribution of materials and equipment
• Receiving deliveries and ensuring items are stored correctly
• Monitoring inventory and ordering or replenishing stock when required
• Taking responsibility for the storage facility and ensuring it remains efficient and well-organised
• Coordinating the allocation, return and upkeep of tools and machinery
• Making sure equipment is in good working order and available when needed
• Assisting with the preparation and clearance of construction sites
• Ensuring materials, tools and equipment are delivered to the right location at the right time
• Keeping accurate records and maintaining a safe, tidy working environment

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience within warehousing, stores, logistics, construction or a similar environment
• A practical mindset and a willingness to get involved
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• The confidence to manage stock, deliveries and equipment independently
• A proactive approach and the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site and office teams

• Salary up to £35,000 DOE + benefits
• Permanent, full-time position
• East Grinstead location
• Working hours of either 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch
