Job description

Warehouse Sortation

We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our Birtley based Logistics team.

Hours: 0200 - 1130 Monday - Friday

You will be responsible for ensuring that all stock is safely loaded and unloaded from the delivery vehicles within the hub. This includes breaking loads down into delivery routes, scanning where necessary, and preparing bulk paper palettes for the drivers. You will also ensure all loads are secured, inform drivers of the load conditions, and produce paperwork when applicable.

Other duties include covering holidays and absences, which involve loading vehicles, ensuring all documentation is in order, and using technology to obtain proof of deliveries.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of health and safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team.

We seek candidates with a flexible attitude towards working hours and willingness to do overtime when necessary. The role requires physical fitness as tasks involve walking, standing, lifting, or stretching, with some heavy lifting involved. Good communication skills, basic numeracy and literacy, high levels of common sense, integrity, and honesty are essential.
