Job summary

Culina is seeking an Operations Controller at our Chorley site to drive day-to-day warehouse activity in a full-time permanent role. Salary is £27,264 per year, with rotating 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm shifts.

You will oversee outbound schedules, issue instructions, maintain accurate outbound paperwork, and be the on-site driver contact. This role offers development toward supervisory positions within warehousing and logistics.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse/logistics environment.
• Ability to prioritise work based on schedules and resources.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook with strong attention to detail.
• Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Solid knowledge of on-site warehouse systems.
• Experience with Autostore and RF kit is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage outbound schedules to meet collection and delivery times.
• Issue instructions to staff to ensure smooth flow of work.
• Maintain accurate paperwork for outbound vehicles.
• Be the first point of contact for drivers on site.
• Communicate issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruption.
• Contribute to continuous improvement with the operations team.

As part of our, Contract division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team asan Operations Controller to at our Chorley site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary:£27,264 per annum.

Working hours:Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm rotating.

As the WarehouseOperations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to‑day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within warehousing and logistics. It is an ideal stepping stone for someone aspiring to progress into Warehouse Supervisory or Warehouse Management positions in the future.

You will gain valuable experience in operational processes, people management, customer service, compliance, and performance management while working alongside experienced leaders who will support your professional development.

Responsibilities of the WarehouseOperations Controller include:

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.

Qualifications

What you’ll need ...

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in‑depth knowledge of on‑site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
