Job summary

Culina is recruiting an Operations Controller for our Deeside site, a full-time role in Contract Logistics. You will support day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring inbound receipts and outbound loads run efficiently, while liaising with drivers and shift managers to maintain schedules.

The role requires experience in a fast-paced environment, strong IT skills (Word/Excel/Outlook), and knowledge of on-site systems including Autostore and RF kit.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing outbound schedules to meet collection and delivery times.
• Issue instructions to staff to ensure smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Maintain 100% accuracy of outbound paperwork.
• Be first point of contact for drivers on site.
• Raise issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruption.
• Contribute to team decisions to improve efficiency and customer focus.
• Communicate with transport providers to avoid late collections/deliveries.
• Prepare thorough handovers highlighting issues and current state.

Life in this role

As part of our, Contract division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Operations Controller to at our Deeside site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £27,555 per annum, plus £2,000 shift allowance.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off days, 7am-7pm.

As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Operations Controller include:

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.

What you’ll need ...

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
