Job summary

ALDI is hiring Warehouse Operations Assistants for the PTZ (Pick To Zero) operation. You will support movement and availability of fresh produce and other short shelf-life items, with training across Sawley and potential transfer to Bardon.

Hours 12:30 with finish around 19:30, pay £13.31 per hour, temp-to-perm pathway via relocation between distribution centres.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexibility of rota requirements.
• Can work weekends as this is a requirement within Aldi RDC.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to perform physically demanding duties safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound deliveries, checking stock against delivery documentation, and iLPN requirements.
• Use RF scanning equipment to accurately place stock into designated warehouse picking locations.
• Safely load and unload vehicles when required, under the direction of the Deputy Manager.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including LLOPs, PPTs and downsatckers following all training and operational procedures.
• Maintain excellent standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety and site security.
• Identify and immediately report stock discrepancies, damages and operational concerns.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain free from slip, trip and fall hazards.
• Carry out lanewalks to verify stock is in the correct location.
• Down-stack over-height pallets, restack damaged pallets, and prepare stock for pick operations through unwrapping and de-strapping delivered pallets.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, Team Leaders and other departments to achieve operational targets.

About the Role

At ALDI, our Warehouse Operations Assistants are a key part of the supply chain, ensuring stores receive the right products at the right time. Working within the PTZ (Pick To Zero) operation, you will support the movement and availability of fresh produce, bread and other short shelf-life products, helping maintain exceptional service to our stores and customers.

PLEASE NOTE: Successful candidates hired for the Sawley Distribution Centre will be required to train and support the current operation here in Sawley for a period up to nine months. We would then require you to transfer to our Bardon Distribution Centre in LE67 and you would be required to attend these locations using your own transport. Please take this into consideration before completing your application.

Working Environment

A significant proportion of this role is based within a temperature-controlled warehouse environment maintained between 2°C and 5°C. Full PPE and suitable protective clothing are provided to ensure colleagues can work safely and comfortably.
