Job summary

GXO is seeking an experienced Warehouse MHE Operative at our Northampton DC7 site to join a fast-paced team. You will receive full training and develop your skills in material handling equipment. This is a full-time, permanent role with training on Reach Truck and progression opportunities.

This position offers 14:00–22:00 or 22:00–06:00 shifts, with a Reach Truck license provided in-house and competitive pay plus allowances and benefits.

Qualifications

• Keen to develop skills and operate MHE equipment following training.
• Reasonable level of physical fitness for daily handling duties.
• Confidence using IT systems and basic computer literacy.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely within drive-in racking systems.
• Load, unload, and move pallets to storage or dispatch areas.
• Ensure accurate stock placement and retrieval following procedures.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and report faults or safety issues.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative looking for your next move? Ready to start your MHE career and develop new skills? Do you take pride in working safely, accurately and keeping operations running at pace?

Here at GXO, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse MHE Operative to join our team at our Northampton DC7 site. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain MHE experience and obtain an in-house license (initially Reach Truck however the opportunity to learn HLop, Scissor Lift and VNA).

You will receive full training from our experienced in-house team, including a fully paid 5-day Reach Truck training course. Following successful completion of the training, you will continue working as an MHE Operative at our site, developing your skills within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

This is full-time, permanent role, basedon any ‘5 out of 7’ working patterns. Shift patterns available14:00 - 22:00 or 22:00 - 06:00.

Pay, benefits and more:

• £12.96 per hour (including Reach Truck allowance)
• Additional hourly allowances are available depending on your MHE skills: VNA +£0.50 per hour, Reach Truck and Counterbalance +£0.25 per hour, and Scissor Lift +£0.11 per hour. Anight shift premium of +£1.00 per hour applies for all hours worked between 18:00 – 06:00.
