Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the site warehouse team across all shifts, fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure warehouse operations fully comply with BRCGS standards, retailer specifications, and internal food safety and quality protocols.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in a chilled, high-care environment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and traceability through disciplined stock control, segregation, and cycle count routines.
  • Drive and sustain high standards of hygiene, GMP, allergen control, and 5S across all warehouse areas.
  • Play a key role in audit readiness, including BRCGS and major retailer audits.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse operatives and team leaders, setting clear performance objectives and ensuring capability development.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production, Planning, Technical, and Logistics teams to optimise stock flow, reduce waste, and meet OTIF targets.
  • Utilise and continuously improve WMS/ERP tools for inventory control and operational visibility.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a zero-harm safety culture.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in a Warehouse Manager or similar role within a high-risk chilled food manufacturing environment.
  • Deep understanding of BRCGS and major UK retailer warehousing standards.
  • Strong track record in managing teams in high-care and allergen-sensitive operations.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP principles, allergen management, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with WMS and ERP systems; strong IT literacy, including Excel and reporting tools.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH) preferred.
