Job description

Our market-leading client is offering an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to take responsibility for ensuring the efficient management and control of the Warehouse Operation while achieving agreed budgetary and service levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods, and products to support business operations and customer demand.

Responsibilities Include
  1. Represent the company professionally, enthusiastically, and positively.
  2. Ensure an efficient warehouse operation capable of fulfilling operational and customer demand.
  3. Provide a safe working environment by adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
  4. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  5. Maintain a zero-tolerance mindset for deviations from quality processes to fully meet customer deliverables.
  6. Understand customer needs and align them with the needs and commitments of the business.
  7. Plan future capacity requirements.
  8. Respond to all enquiries promptly and effectively.
  9. Ensure inventory accuracy through physical counts and reconciliation with automated systems, involving the warehouse team.
  10. Ensure all documentation related to goods in and out, including stock labelling, is accurate and relevant.
  11. Maintain and update IT and automated systems accurately.
  12. Identify system improvements and drive recommendations for change.
  13. Optimize warehouse space, layout, and future capacity requirements.
  14. Review and implement waste reduction strategies.
  15. Develop and maintain metrics, KPIs, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and safety records.
  16. Create policies and procedures for warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  17. Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency, add value, and reduce costs through initiatives.
  18. Implement best practice warehousing principles, policies, and processes.
  19. Ensure health and safety standards are met, including conducting risk assessments.
  20. Store hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
  21. Maintain high security standards in the warehouse through proper procedures.
  22. Ensure vehicles, machinery, and equipment are well-maintained and fit for purpose.
  23. Ensure manual handling procedures are followed during lifting and manoeuvring of products.
  24. Ensure staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, working safely to protect themselves and others.
Required Skills & Experience
  1. Demonstrated experience in managing a warehouse.
  2. Previous management experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  3. Experience in inventory control.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, including health and safety requirements.
  5. A warehouse or distribution qualification would be advantageous.
