Job summary

Premier Work Support in Basildon is seeking a Warehouse/Forklift Operative to join a busy warehouse on a permanent basis. You will hold a Counterbalance forklift licence, have solid warehouse experience and strong communication skills. A 5-year continuous work history with no gaps is preferred.

Shifts rotate: 6am-2.30pm and 11.30am-8pm, Monday to Friday, with on-site duties including loading/unloading, safety compliance and accurate stock handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of continuous employment history with no gaps.
• Experience in a warehouse environment essential.
• Excellent communication skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading freight using a Counterbalance forklift.
• Notify supervisor of shortages or damages.
• Ensure booking-in procedures are followed and dims are checked.
• Ensure all vehicles are handled promptly.
• Ensure Hi-Vis and safety footwear are worn by staff.
• All freight leaving the warehouse is signed for upon collection.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse.

Job description

Our client based in Basildon is looking for a Warehouse/Forklift Operative to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous warehouse experience, a Counterbalance Forklift licence, excellent communication skills and a solid 5 year work history with no gaps and a strong work ethic.

The Warehouse/Forklift Operative duties will involve:

• Loading and unloading of freight going through the warehouse using a Counterbalance Forklift
• Notifying Supervisor of any shortages or damages
• Ensuring that the appropriate booking in procedure is adhered to and dims etc are checked and reported back to the relevant department.
• Ensuring that all vehicles are handled in a prompt manner
• Ensuring all people in the vicinity are wearing Hi-Vis and warehouse staff are wearing safety footwear
• Ensuring that all freight leaving the warehouse is signed for upon collection
• Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse

Hours of work are Monday to Friday. Flexibility with hours is a must as you will be rotating shifts. Shifts are 6am - 2.30pm and 11.30am - 8pm.
