Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Warehouse/Forklift Person to join a dynamic team. If you have a passion for warehouse operations and experience with forklift driving, and are driven by efficiency and accuracy, this opportunity is perfect for you.

Due to significant business growth, we are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join a production and manufacturing organisation based in the Waterlooville area.

As a Warehouse Person, you will be responsible for tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and keeping the warehouse organised and safe. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. You must have a full driving licence, as you will be using company vans for pickups and deliveries. A forklift licence is required, or if expired, it will be acceptable.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 09:30 am to 5:30 pm, with breaks. Paid weekly, with overtime paid. A driving licence is necessary for local deliveries.

The starting salary is £12.70 per hour, increasing to £13.67 per hour after a qualifying period, leading to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
2. Unload shipments and verify order accuracy.
3. Inspect items for damage and condition.
4. Process paperwork and update inventory.

1. Picking and Packing:
2. Pick items accurately based on orders.
3. Pack securely, label, and prepare for dispatch.
4. Drive company vans for deliveries and pickups.

1. Inventory Control:
2. Manage stock levels with regular counts and updates.
3. Track stock movements in management systems.
4. Monitor stock rotation and discrepancies.

1. Shipping and Dispatch:
2. Prepare outgoing orders and organize loading.
3. Coordinate with carriers for timely delivery.
4. Complete shipping documentation.

1. Warehouse Maintenance:
2. Maintain cleanliness and safety.
3. Ensure proper storage and labelling.
4. Follow FIFO and stock management practices.

1. Operating Warehouse Equipment:
2. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely.
3. Perform routine checks on equipment.

1. Health and Safety Compliance:
2. Follow safety protocols and report hazards.
3. Use PPE as required.

1. Team Collaboration:
2. Work with team members and supervisors.
3. Assist in training new staff.
4. Communicate effectively across departments.
