Job description

Focused Recruitment is currently seeking a Trainee Warehouse Coordinator to work at our client's manufacturing facility in the Blackwood area.

This is a junior role where the successful applicant will receive training over a 3-year period to become a Shipping Office Coordinator.

Description of the role

• Ensure delivery performance through the timely execution and fulfillment of sales orders in accordance with sales and customer delivery requirements.
• Act as the focal point for day-to-day liaison with Sales/Customer Support and related business contacts.
• Maintain good working relationships with site operations personnel and foster cooperation across interfaces both on and off-site, including third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure all export and import shipping transactions comply with rules and customer/plant requirements.
• Follow parameters set by the central transport department and liaise with transport procurement when primary transport providers cannot deliver.
• Process POs placed by the delegated buyer for third-party and inter-company purchases.
• Manage the flow of finished products for the UK market and maintain a booking sheet for inbound traffic, listing non-compliant parties.

The desired candidate

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service operational environment, preferably within warehousing/logistics.
• Vocational qualification in a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP is desirable but not essential.

Skills Required

• Understanding of HSE risks in logistics operations and a commitment to high HSE standards.
• Effective communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and a proactive team player experienced in building team relationships.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
