Job summary

British Heart Foundation in Cricklewood is seeking a part-time Warehouse Assistant to help organise donated furniture and appliances, prepare items for sale and keep the shop floor well stocked.

This 15-hour-per-week role requires weekend and bank holiday flexibility; it is physical, involves lifting large items, and you will work within a team to support volunteers while upholding safety and a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience isn't essential.
• You’ll be confident working within a team and able to guide volunteers.
• You’ll work well under pressure and on your own initiative in a dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail in everything you do.
• Comfortable with hands-on manual work moving large items.

Responsibilities

• Organising donated items and preparing them for sale / Handling and moving deliveries of furniture and appliances arriving in stores.
• Ensuring the shop floor is always well stocked.
• Working in line with safety regulations and promoting health and wellbeing.
• Identifying unsaleable donations for recycling.
• Keeping the stockroom organised and tidy.
• This role can be physically demanding and involves lifting large pieces of furniture.
• You will be given autonomy and will build knowledge of BHF.

Opportunity

The role is part time for 15 hours a week in one of our busy furniture stores. Our stores are fast-paced and trade 7 days a week. This role requires flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Candidate must be fully flexible to work across 7 days per week including Weekends and Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Organising donated items and preparing them for sale / Handling and moving the delivery of furniture and appliances that arrive in our stores
• Ensuring the shop floor is always well stocked
• Working in line with safety regulations and promoting health, safety and wellbeing in everything you do
• Identifying unsaleable donations for recycling
• Keeping the stockroom organised and tidy
• Please note, this role can be physically demanding and moving a high volume of donation bags / involves lifting large pieces of furniture.
• You will be given lots of autonomy in your role and will strive to continually build your knowledge of BHF.
