Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, is hiring a Home Warehouse Assistant to support inbound and outbound operations and prepare furniture for delivery to customers.

Two roles exist: Inbound 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM and Outbound 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays. You will check goods, palletise stock, operate forklift equipment, handle returns, and maintain safety and accuracy in stock handling.

Responsibilities

• Rigorously check inbound goods standards and report defects.
• Palletise stock and store accurately using forklift equipment.
• Pick outbound orders and report damages before dispatch.
• Process customer returns per system processes.
• Handle goods with safety and care.

Join our team as a Home Warehouse Assistant at The Sofa Delivery Company and play a vital part in getting furniture ready for its new home.

• Rigorously check all inbound goods are of the correct standard and report any which arenot, to ensure that stock is not putaway in less than perfect condition
• Palletise stock in line with Company guidelines and put away accurately to high bayracking using fork lift truck equipment
• When picking outbound orders, using Fork Lift Truck equipment, report any damage ordefects to goods to ensure they do not arrive to customers in less than perfect condition
• Process customer returns in a timely manner, following agreed system processes
• Handle all goods, using your specialised training, with the safety and care that you wouldyour own

• Hold an up to date reach truck license or be willing to undergo training within your first 3 months of starting (novice or conversion)
• Willing to adapt your role to the needs of the business when necessary e.g. be trained ondifferent or additional equipment, work in another department or CDC
• Have previous knowledge of or be willing to undergo training on Warehouse ManagementSystems
• Uphold brilliant standards of personal presentation every day
• Professional conduct at all times when representing the Company to its customers
• Physically able to complete the requirements of the role
• Experience of working as part of a strong, well-functioning team
