Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Cargo Handler to receive, store, build up pallets, and distribute freight while complying with safety policies. This role requires English proficiency, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift heavy items, and adherence to background checks and drug testing policies.

You will read and interpret freight documents, operate forklifts, and participate in cargo build-up/breakdown.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and perform basic math.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations in past 5 years.
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds repeatedly.
• All hires undergo background checks, employment/education verification, drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Read air waybill, bills of lading, or freight manifest to determine items to move.
• Move freight from receiving to storage or designated areas using forklift or transporter.
• Fill requisitions and distribute items to locations.
• Open crates and containers; record counts of items received or distributed.
• Weigh and count items to ensure conformance to standards and air waybill.
• Build up/break down cargo on skids, pallets or ULDs.

Role Purpose

As a member of the Menzies Aviation Cargo Warehouse Handling team, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, building up Pallets , braking down , and distributing freight while practicing all Company’s Safety Policy inclusive of, but not limited to: wearing PPE, equipment operation, safe lifting procedures, or obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Reads air waybill, bills of landing, or freight manifest to determine the items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys freight from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas with forklift or transporter
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to other locations
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers for break down. Records count of items received or distributed
• Weighs and counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards and air waybill
• Performs cargo build-up and/or breakdowns, freight to and/or from skid, pallets or ULDs
