Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two motivated Band 5 nurses for our 25-bed ward at Helston Community Hospital. The post focuses on delivering high-quality care to predominantly elderly patients, with rotation across Early, Late and Night shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

The successful candidates will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team, participate in ongoing development, and help lead the ward while mentoring students and healthcare assistants.

Qualifications

• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Experience of working within a community hospital and elderly care ENB 941 an advantage.
• First Degree or Diploma (or working towards).
• Enabling leadership and mentorship within nursing teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop programmes of care in the ward.
• Act as a team leader providing nursing care without direct supervision.
• Mentor pre- and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking NVQ.
• Support 24-hour nursing care with a flexible shift pattern across days, evenings and nights.
