Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join the Acute Medicine team. The role is based mainly at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) site in Oxford, with potential duties at John Radcliffe.

NVQ Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent and GPhC registration are required, with medicines management or accuracy checking accreditation. We welcome student technicians in training and offer progression toward MMT/ACT roles; pre-registration technicians

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent.
• Registered with the GPhC.
• Accreditation in medicines management or accuracy checking (or both).

Responsibilities

• Provide and develop clinical pharmacy services to the Oxfordshire Centre of Enablement (OCE) including the multidisciplinary Oxford Spasticity Service.
• Work with neuro-rehabilitation pharmacist and nursing teams to ensure safe and cost-effective medication practices.
• Support medicines administration and patient counselling within the OCE and rehabilitation pathway.
• Ensure medicines management aims for safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of medicines.
• Collaborate with AMR Directorate team to ensure efficient, safe working practices with rotational pharmacists and ward-based staff.
• Support strategic developments such as improved discharge processes and safe prescribing pathways.
