University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Patient Catering Assistant to support ward-based meal service. You will assist with preparing, regenerating, and delivering meals, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and Food Safety across kitchens and wards.

The role requires attention to temperature controls, teamwork with ward staff, and strict adherence to Trust policies. Induction and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Attends Trust induction and any required training for this post.
• Able to follow instructions and duties as detailed in the job description.
• Commitment to CIEH Level 2 in Food Safety within 3 months.
• Aimed to achieve NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in support services and customer care within 3 years.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or catering environment is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Transport meals to wards and check temperatures during delivery.
• Prepare and regenerate meals at ward level as required.
• Serve meals to patients and ensure all receive correct items.
• Wash up and clean ward kitchens and equipment after service.
• Record temperatures and maintain Food Safety paperwork.
• Support with waste disposal and adherence to COSHH and Trust policies.
• Exhibit teamwork with ward staff to meet patient meal service targets.
