Job summary

University Hospitals Of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Patient Catering Assistant to support the main kitchen in preparing and regenerating meals, and to deliver a high standard patient meal service.

You will work in ward-level kitchens, follow Food Safety guidelines, assist with washing up, transport meals to wards, and help ensure every patient receives a meal on time as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital catering and food safety practices.
• Ability to work as part of a kitchen team to serve patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and regenerate meals at ward level daily.
• Transport meals to wards and check temperatures.
• Cook meals on wards using microwaves and probes.
• Wash up and clean ward kitchens; return crockery and cutlery.
• Record and dispose of food waste and complete food safety paperwork.
