Job summary

Chelwest is seeking a Ward Manager to lead the Richmond ward in our Planned Care Division at Chelsea and Westminster and provide professional development for the nursing and support team. You will ensure high standards of patient care, lead auditing of practice, and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff across our two main acute sites.

You will deputise for the Matron when needed and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent, patient-centred care in a busy NHS trust

Qualifications

• Experience in team management and staff development within a healthcare setting.
• Recruitment, selection and retention experience in a clinical team.
• Organising and delivering education and training for staff.
• Substantial experience at a band 6 or equivalent level.
• Experience using an electronic patient record system.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the overall management of the clinical area and Richmond ward.
• Provide advice and support to the multidisciplinary team in patient care.
• Maintain high standards of care and audit clinical practice.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Deputise for the Matron when required; lead development for nursing and support workers.
