Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated nurse to work alongside the Matron, ward manager and consultants to deliver on service strategies and the Trust vision of best care for everyone.

You will deliver, plan and evaluate patient care with the multidisciplinary team, maintain high standards under UK law and NMC guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement and staff mentorship within Head and Neck services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, plan and evaluate patient care, ensuring high standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to meet needs of patients and families.
• Maintain high visibility and clinical expertise, role model high standards of care and evidence-based practice.
• Support clinical governance and quality framework, embedding continuous improvement culture.
• Deliver, coordinate and supervise patient care across days/nights, adhering to Trust vision of best care for everyone.
• Provide safe care using specialised equipment within a changing clinical environment.
• Administer medications following POPAM guidelines.
• Disseminate sensitive information appropriately and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Role model high standards of patient care, communication and organisation.
• Utilise hospital systems (intranet, Trak-care, electronic patient records) to access/update patient information.
• Work with MDT to meet patient needs and provide high standards of care.
• Lead on implementation of clinical initiatives or new equipment.
• Participate in mentorship programmes for students and team members.
• Support quality improvements within Head and Neck services and liaise with other teams.
