VerseOne Group is seeking an experienced Band 7 Nurse to join the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) leadership team. You will provide visible clinical leadership from patient arrival through their journey, applying expert knowledge of acute medicine, patient flow and capacity management.

You will work with senior nurses, medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care and effective management of the medical take and ED referrals.

Responsabilidades

• Provide visible clinical and professional leadership within AMU and MSDEC.
• Be professionally accountable for nursing standards and quality of care.
• Support, teach and develop nursing staff to promote learning and clinical excellence.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in acute medicine, patient flow and escalation management.
• Oversee medical referrals from the Emergency Department and coordinate the medical take team.
• Contribute to decisions affecting patient flow and service delivery.
• Maintain infection prevention standards within the unit.
• Manage financial resources as named budget holder and signatory.
• Ensure accurate information governance and timely data submission.
• Collaborate with the MDT to drive service improvement and operational effectiveness.

• Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge in acute medicine, including patient flow, capacity and escalation management.
• Safely receive and manage medical referrals from the Emergency Department and oversee the effective coordination of the medical take team.
• Actively contribute to decision-making processes that impact patient flow, operational pressures and service delivery across the unit.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control within the clinical area.
• Act as the named budget holder and authorised signatory, ensuring responsible management of financial resources.
• Maintain responsibility for information governance within the ward/department, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely submission of data.
• Work collaboratively with senior nurses, medical staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to support service improvement and operational effectiveness.

You will play a pivotal role in providing visible clinical leadership from the point of patient arrival through their entire journey within AMU and MSDEC. This role requires expert knowledge of acute medicine, patient flow, capacity management and workforce leadership. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the effective management of the medical take, supporting both inpatient and same‑day emergency care pathways.
