Job summary

HCRG Care Group's Savernake Forest Ward in Marlborough is seeking a Band 7 Ward Manager to lead four inpatient wards in Wiltshire, ensuring high standards of patient care and a strong clinical presence. You will develop a supportive multidisciplinary team, oversee staff, patient care, and resources, and drive service improvements in line with CQC expectations.

The role includes NHS Pension and Agenda for Change terms, with on-site parking and wellbeing/development opportunities through My Reward

Qualifications

• NMC 1st Level registration required.
• Masters level (or equivalent) and ongoing CPD.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Evidence of post-registration development and leadership training.
• Experience leading, supporting and developing a team.
• Proven ability to improve patient experience and care quality.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the ward nursing team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to reduce avoidable admissions and support timely discharges.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care and promote best practices.
• Provide professional guidance, monitor staff performance and safety.
• Ensure CQC requirements are met with appropriate documentation.

Job Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic leader- passionate about high standards of patient care and keen to develop within our strong, supportive, friendly and established multidisciplinary team. You will be a great role model, leading by example to inspire the team around you to provide exceptional holistic assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Practice. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the team through changes and the development of our service and provide a positive and visible clinical presence on the ward. You will be part of a supportive and friendly senior ops team across the four inpatient wards in Wiltshire.

Main Responsibilities

As a Band 7 Ward Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, patient care, and resources within a community hospital ward.

• Provide supportive leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care and efficient use of resources in patient rehabilitation.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help prevent avoidable hospital admissions and support timely discharges in coordination with the Integrated Neighbourhood Care Team and other partners.
• Deliver expert nursing care, promote best practices, and guide staff in maintaining quality standards.
• Offer professional advice, recognize personal limitations, and seek support when needed.
• Ensure the unit meets all CQC requirements with appropriate evidence.
