Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Band 7 Ward Manager for our 30-bed community hospital ward in Marlborough. You will lead by example to deliver holistic patient care, oversee staff and resources, and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of practice.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the team through changes and ensure a visible clinical presence, driving quality and safe care in line with nursing standards.

Qualifications

• NMC 1st Level registration is required.
• Masters level or equivalent training/qualification is expected.
• Teaching qualification is desirable.
• Post registration development is desirable.
• Significant post-registration experience is required.
• Recent acute medical or surgical experience is preferred.
• Experience in leading, supporting and developing a team.
• Evidence of managing and improving the patient experience.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Time management and prioritisation skills.
• Demonstrates personal accountability and initiative.
• Ability to lead under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of staff, patient care and resources within a community hospital ward.

Job Introduction

Are you looking for a new challenge then why not apply to be the new Band 7 Ward Manager of our 30 bedded community hospital ward in the beautiful Savernake Forest in Marlborough? We are looking for an enthusiastic leader- passionate about high standards of patient care and keen to develop within our strong, supportive, friendly and established multidisciplinary team. You will be a great role model, leading by example to inspire the team around you to provide exceptional holistic assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Practice. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the team through changes and the development of our service and provide a positive and visible clinical presence on the ward. You will be part of a supportive and friendly senior ops team across the four inpatient wards in Wiltshire, As a Band 7 Ward Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, patient care, and resources within a community hospital ward. Provide supportive leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care and efficient use of resources in patient rehabilitation. Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help prevent avoidable hospital admissions and support timely discharges in coordination with the Integrated Neighbourhood Care Team and other partners. Deliver expert nursing care, promote best practices, and guide staff in maintaining quality standards. Offer professional advice, recognize personal limitations, and seek support when needed. Ensure the unit meets all CQC requirements with appropriate evidence.
