Job summary

Southern Hospice Group is seeking a Ward Manager to oversee daily ward operations and ensure high standards of patient care. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, maintain clinical governance, and deputise for senior colleagues when required.

You will remain clinically active, provide direct patient care as needed, and support learning and development across the team. A strong background in palliative nursing and post-registration leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in palliative care and physical assessment.
• Substantial post-registration experience in a senior clinical role.

Job description

As Ward Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ward and the safe delivery of patient care. You will lead the team effectively, maintain professional and clinical standards, support learning and development, and work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team. You will also remain clinically active, providing direct patient care when needed and deputising for senior colleagues where appropriate.
