Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health Care Assistant for Ward 38. The role emphasises high standards of patient care and safety, and you will support the Registered Nurse in direct patient care while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

Previous care experience is essential, and completion of a care certificate is desirable. You will communicate with patients, carers and staff, prioritise workload, assist with equipment and help maintain patient

Responsibilities

Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient care.
Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Record communications on Wirral Millennium.
Prioritise own workload.
Inform qualified staff of changes in patient's condition or observations.
Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate.
Record-keeping and clerical duties as required.
Order supplies within stock levels and ensure proper storage.
Maintain equipment availability and cleanliness.
Assist in handling patient valuables and property.
Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelines.
Report concerns or anxieties to the appropriate healthcare professional.
Participate in ward safety huddles and maintain patient comfort and skin integrity.
