Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a part-time Health Care Assistant on Ward 24. You will support nurses with direct patient care, promote patient safety and comfort, and work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has previous care experience; completion of a care certificate is desirable. The role is based on Wirral ward facilities with pro rata salary of £25,272 per annum.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is essential.
• Completion of care certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Record communications on Wirral Millennium and monitor patient comfort and safety.
• Prioritise own workload and inform qualified staff of changes in patient condition.
• Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate.
• Undertake clerical duties such as filing and ordering of supplies within stock levels.
• Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
• Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies and guidelines.
• Report concerns disclosed by patients to the responsible healthcare professional.
