Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is recruiting a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join the Florence Nightingale Ward. You will support the nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care and help create a welcoming, respectful ward environment for patients and their families.

You will assist with personal care, nutrition, hydration and mobility, monitor wellbeing and report changes to the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, nutrition, hydration and mobility; monitor wellbeing and report changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Help maintain patients' privacy, dignity, safety and comfort on the ward.
• Support with falls prevention and basic clinical procedures under supervision.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and families, including end-of-life care as needed.
• Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergencies on the Florence Nightingale Ward.
