Job summary

Sodexo, based at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, is seeking a Ward Host Supervisor to lead and deliver high-quality ward catering. You will inspire a team, manage rotas, and ensure safe, patient-centered service across meals and beverages.

You will oversee dietary needs, allergen management and service records, while collaborating with hospital teams to resolve issues and maintain standards. A supportive, patient-focused environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within healthcare, hospitality or catering.
• Strong commitment to excellent service for patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of food safety, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and allergen management.
• Confident leadership and communication skills to motivate a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management in a busy hospital environment.
• Proactive approach to maintaining standards and resolving issues.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills for records, ordering and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day ward catering service, ensuring a safe, high-quality and welcoming experience.
• Supervise ward catering teams, allocate duties and support rotas.
• Oversee meal and beverage service, including dietary requirements and allergen management.
• Monitor standards and carry out checks, taking action to improve where needed.
• Maintain accurate records for food safety, temperature, stock and wastage.
• Collaborate with hospital management to resolve issues and ensure timely service.
• Provide admin support when the Business Manager is out of the office.
• Promote a customer-focused culture and high standard of care.
