Sodexo, based at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, is seeking a Ward Host Supervisor to lead and deliver high-quality ward catering. You will inspire a team, manage rotas, and ensure safe, patient-centered service across meals and beverages.

You will oversee dietary needs, allergen management and service records, while collaborating with hospital teams to resolve issues and maintain standards. A supportive, patient-focused environment awaits.

Formación

• Experience in a supervisory role within healthcare, hospitality or catering.
• Strong commitment to excellent service for patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of food safety, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and allergen management.
• Confident leadership and communication skills to motivate a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management in a busy hospital environment.
• Proactive approach to maintaining standards and resolving issues.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills for records, ordering and reporting.

• Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7
• Shift Times Example: 6:30 am - 2:00 pm OR 1:15 pm - 8:45 pm
• Meal on shift / uniform provided / free staff parking (off site, 5 min away)

What you’ll do:

• Lead and support the day-to-day ward catering service, ensuring patients, visitors and colleagues receive a safe, high-quality and welcoming experience.
• Supervise and motivate ward catering teams, allocating duties, supporting rotas and ensuring everyone works to the required standards.
• Oversee the preparation, presentation and service of meals and beverages, including supporting patients with dietary requirements and allergen management.
• Monitor standards across ward catering and related service areas, carrying out checks and taking action where improvements are needed.
• Maintain accurate food safety, temperature, stock, wastage and service records, using systems to support effective reporting.
• Work closely with hospital management and other teams to resolve issues, respond to requests and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
• Provide administrative support while Business Manager is out of office
• Support a positive customer-focused culture by handling feedback professionally, promoting excellent service and helping the team deliver a consistently high standard of care

What you bring:

• Experience in a supervisory role within healthcare, hospitality, catering or a similar customer-focused environment.
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent service and creating a positive experience for patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of food safety, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and allergen management.
• Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, support and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy hospital environment.
• Good attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintaining standards, identifying risks and resolving issues.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills and the confidence to maintain records, use ordering/reporting systems and communicate effectively by email and telephone.
